Route 72 - bivvouacing opportunities

Postby Danny Peacock on Wed Apr 08, 2009 10:57 pm

Hi,

I am looking for some advice...I am planning to do the Hadrian Cycle way in August with a couple of mates and we are keen to bivvouac rather than book any accommodation.

Has anyone done this and if so, can you recommend any good locations for overnight stops?

Cheers,

Danny

Hi, sorry I can't help you in this way. I take it you will be in the way of wild-camping, if so. Then the middle stretch of the route 72 maybe a safer bet with both ends being sort of ina build-up area. I don't know of any wild-camping spots, one trick is to ask the farmer for permission, if only for a 1 nighter.

I've just got a Vaude Bivvy tent and hoping in early September, to do Hadrian's and C2C. If not then the Wheelwright's, the former idea would be a better option.
