Hadrian's Cycleway (HCW) is becoming a very popular cycle route with over 7000 end to end trips last year.

Following the Hadrians Frontier World Heritage Site between Ravenglass to Arbiea, South Shields a distance of 174 miles.

For all the latest news and up dates about Hadrian's Cycleway log onto:

The Sustrans HCW map is almost sold out and a new up dated map is due to be published by August.

If you have any comments about the route or the website please contact Doug on the Tyne.

I've been looking at the Hadrian's Wall Cycleway for some time now and one I would like to do in September. I've looked on the link for any camp-sites, but list does seem to be a bit on the thin side. I'm sure there are more camp-sites than this.

The Flimby Gap

Postby dougonthetyne on Thu Jun 12, 2008 3:47 pm

The temporary route through Flimby is due to be replaced by an improved route by end of July once a new bridge over a stream is put in place and the new section signed.
The underpass to north of Flimby at Risehow is now in use which leads to the off-road path through the sandhills to Maryport avoiding the very busy A596(T) road
